“What is the greatest strength of our American democracy?"
Join us for the third-annual UVA Student Oratory Competition in the historical Rotunda Dome Room on UVA's Grounds.
Student participants will be judged on speechwriting ability and the quality of the delivery of a short speech on the topic “What is the greatest strength of our American democracy?”
The winner will receive a $500 prize, as well as the opportunity to join the panel of judges for next year's competition. All finalists will receive engraved Jefferson Cups.
The panel of judges includes former White House speechwriters from both Democratic and Republican administrations, as well as last year's Student Oratory Competition winner.
This competition is sponsored by UVA's Karsh Institute of Democracy, Think Again @ UVA, the Jefferson Literary & Debating Society, the University Democrats, and the College Republicans.
